Welcome to Horizon Over the Spectrum
At Horizon Over the Spectrum, we believe every child on the autism spectrum deserves support, understanding, and opportunities to thrive. Founded by a mother and advocate with firsthand experience navigating autism, our nonprofit is dedicated to empowering Black families of children with autism, ages 2–14.

Why We Exist
Autism affects children from all backgrounds, but Black families often face unique challenges, including delayed diagnoses, limited access to resources, and cultural stigmas. We launched Horizon Over the Spectrum to bridge this gap—providing education, advocacy, and direct support to families who need it most.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple:
Increase autism awareness within the Black community.
Provide resources and support for families of newly diagnosed children.
Create a safe space where families can connect, learn, and grow together.

How We Help
Education & Resources – We share culturally relevant information about autism, including early signs, intervention strategies, and advocacy tips.
Community Support – We offer workshops, virtual meetups, and local events to help families build a strong support network.
Advocacy & Awareness – Through outreach and partnerships, we work to dismantle barriers to diagnosis and services for Black children with autism.
